Regardless of the machine type and manufacturer, variables in designation and structure can be harmonized and standardized depending on the requirements of the application. All data can be published ad hoc via OPC UA server and REST / JSON. Codabix not only acts as a communication gateway but also used as a data collector.
The connection to MES, PPS, ERP can be implemented in the same way as to I4.0 clouds e.g. via OPC UA, MQTT, REST etc. Data are converted into the required format and published upon trigger. This enables remote monitoring and interpretation of real time data.
With the help of scripting, various tasks such as event-based data acquisition, compression and automation can be implemented (e.g. OEE, rule sets, …). The application supports TypeScript programming language with standard JavaScript libraries available. This could be used to create conditional triggers, process raw data, automate and control machines and processes, export data to files and many other custom functionalities.
Codabix uses a unified architecture across all interfaces. All connections, settings, and machine data are available in abstract form as a node graph. Configuration is easily accessible via browser-based web interface which allows for remote access.
Codabix can be run on edge devices (e.g. Raspberry Pi) on the machine, on a server in the data center, or as a Docker container in the cloud. It is supported on various operating systems including windows, Mac OS, and Linux.
